Perseus - Account Hacked

Post by WarmApplePie »

He probably didn't even have access to the lowbie tabs. But if he did just wanted you let you guys know what happened.

I lost all the stuff out of my alt guilds bank.

This is pretty much the straw that broke the camels back for me. I will be trying to convince Rathr to move to WAR. This isn't a fair-thee-well just yet, she really likes WoW and WAR will be a hard sell.

I blame Blizzard, they make it easy for hackers to do this crap by allowing custom UI's and Mods and also by allowing instant server transfers. Blizzard also made it more lucrative for hackers by putting in guild banks. Now you dont just rob one person, you rob the collective work of who knows how many.

/rant off GL   PS. Google Chrome wouldn't let me post a message.
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me.

Perseus - Account Hacked

It's Blizzard's fault people get viruses on their computers? Custom UIs and Mods have nothing to do with getting "hacked" unless you're downloading from a disreputable site or a site that has been hacked. The UIs and Mods themselves don't (aren't supposed to) contain executable files. They run inside of the WoW program and are quite incapable of stealing your user and password.

What likely happened to him was a keylogger go onto his computer from any number of websites. Blaming Blizzard and running off to another game isn't going to help. The keyloggers will just follow there.

My UI contains not one default Blizzard part, and it takes my computer like 5 minutes to load up WoW, all because of the zillions of add-ons I've had and still have. I've never had a single malicious file or keylogger either, so it all depends on where you go and what you do.
