Loot Policy

Post by Drumble »

We had a situation that happened last night which could have potentially been avoided if people had a more clear understanding of our 'loot policy'.  So let me say first that I'm sorry I spaced out that we had more than one druid in the party when I so enthusiastically shouted for Faethon.  Sorry Akumabarai! As a general policy -- PLEASE SPEAK UP IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN LOOT SO WE DONT MISS ANYTHING!!!!We /rand for anything usable, and allow everyone to sort it out in a friendly way amongst themselves. This works because crap floats to the surface and is very obvious when we're running 10-man instances. If you won something or more than one something it will be noticeable and I expect you to play fair. The exceptions to these rules are as follows:-- mains get first stab at loot over an alt, any alts will pass the first item choice to a main.  Once the main has an item, anything else in the instance is fair game for that day to be /rand over.  A perfect example is last night when Moroes dropped his caster neck and belt, Phrikk and Kaiden negotiated who wanted what more.  Kaiden had his pick of whatever he wanted first ... but in fairness decided to let Phrikk have the other item instead of rolling against him.  When Oz dropped 2 more caster items, they went ahead and negotiated -- but both of those items would be up for /rand.-- patterns go to either mains or alts, but first to the people with the skill to be able to use them.  If more than one in the group has the skill level of the crafting recipe, it's a /rand roll.  This does not count against any future loot for the run -- but fairness should come into play here.-- if the raid leader feels people aren't being fair, it's his/her discretion to grant the loot to whoever he/she deems fit.  We're not a "good ol' boy" club here, I guarantee anyone who is RL will be 100% fair and have the best interest of the raid/guild in mind.  Nothing will be done without consensus with officers and conferring with the raid group. If anyone has anything to add to this, please do so.

Loot Policy

Just one quick thing to add:  Familarize yourself with the loot that drops in kara (or any instance).  If you don't have it already, I would recomend getting Atlas loot.  It is a UI mod that will allow you to browse loot from bosses, instances, pvp, rep, basically every thing except quests.  The reason I say this, is because there is often similar loot that drops off another boss.  This would be something to keep in mind when you are discussing who should get loot with someone else.  Often times there might be a slightly better option for your given class that would drop off a boss directly after the boss with x loot.  Personally, I would feel rather guilty taking loot, only to replace it next week when the loot I really wanted dropped. Also keep in mind crafted items that you may be saving for, or arena weps.  Aka if you are 200 points away from the season 2 glad spellblade, and the dagger off prince or something drops, I would not roll if I was you.  Even if no one else can use it, I would still shard it because come next tuesday, you will have something better.  And someone else will have a void.Anyway, just my 2cents.  Or zero cents... depending on how you look at it
