Najentus = Dead
First off, sorry to the raiders who did not get to come. We had to stack the raid in favor in ranged DPS and healers, so a few people were left out. Thats just the nature of the game though. On the upside, Najentus hit the floor and we won! Great work everyone, this fight is really about every single person being on the same page and working together to make it happen. Lessons learned: 8500 HP Unbuffed is the minimum required to attempt this. I had 8400, and then over 10k buffed. When I battle rezzed, I was insta killed on the next shield because I had no buffs.... horrible feeling knowing I will die and there is nothing I can do about it
Heroism should be used after first shield to get the most uptime on the boss. Frost resistance does allow you to mitigate some of the damage (I dropped the totem), but I only partially resisted 1 of them (out of like 11), and that was only for like 2k less damage, so not really worth it. We hit his enrage timer the first time, mainly due to not getting the shields down quick enough. We worked out the kinks and it was a decisive win when we dropped him, not close at all. I was really happy that we all coordinated so well. Crushing blows = ouch. Akuma ate 3 in rapid succession on our 2nd attempt and that caused the wipe I believe.... Supremus was fun and seems like a real pushover if we can keep a healer dedicated to the Offtank, and maybe have one more tank in there. With a 15 minute enrage timer, we can afford to have another tank in the mix to eat those hateful strikes. I really like the strat of having a healer in each group, even though it made for bored healers when there was no fire or volcanos. This is an outdoor raid encounter, so travel form and ghost wolf work when running away. If we had another hour we would have dropped him no problem.

Yeah, Supremus would've been dead with another try or 2. For the OT healing, I think we'll want even another healer. We had me and Inori on him, and that was going pretty well. But one more couldn't of hurt and we would've kept more melee alive. As we mentioned last night, the hateful strikes are going to hit the highest HP within melee range, not based on aggro. It's recommended the MT has the highest HP. So what we're seeing with the Hateful strikes is that since they can happen at random intervals in quick succession is that they would hit the OT for 10K and while we were getting the OT back up, they'd then hit a melee for like 20k since at that point melee would have the next highest health besides the MT. So ideally we'll want 2 OT that have a LOT more HP than melee, so take off that pvp gear and throw on some AP melee hitters =). Also, you can out range the hateful strikes. Apparently his hitbox is larger than that attack range, so keep constantly trying to get as far back as possible.....although the MT will have to move him to keep out of fire so you'll have to readjust. Also, try not to stand next to the OTs, as you don't want to get parried either. So a hard fight for melee and OT healers during tank and spank. During phase 2 I think we should go with the raid guru diagram and run to pre-determined edges, each having a healer in order to kite Supremus around and get out of the volcano area.

If we go into BT on Thursday we WILL kill supremus, 37% on our 2nd attempt is pretty telling of how it would go. @all dps: your #1 priority on supremus is: KEEPING YOURSELF ALIVE, you do 0 dps when you're dead. Ranged - stay in range of your healer and avoid fires and volcanos, the volcano shoots those little fireballs and I noticed the graphic is about right on with the range, so make sure you aren't getting hit by those little fireballs, also the fires move wicked slow, they are easy mode to avoid, plus i'm pretty sure they don't even do damage right away. Melee - supremus has a ZOMG HUGE hit box, use that to your advantage in avoiding fires and such. Kiting went well enough for our first crack at him, if we elimate people dying to fires and volcanos and stuff and can keep the MT and OT up, we got this. 1 final note on the big guy, his hatefull strike type ability seems to just hit whoever has the highest health in melee range (minus the MT) then if there's no one in melee range he just hits the MT w/ it.

Congrats on the BT kill! Wish I could consistently raid with the group, but I'm glad to know FA is seeing new content.

wtb moar off-tanks / off-tank healers! i think we could do this easily with a few more attempts and someone other than melee to absorb the hateful strikes. not using fort may be a good idea as well, as i didn't take any damage on either attempt except hateful strikes, but i took three of them on the second attempt (dodge, dead, thanks for the b-rez!, dead) so a bigger buffer between melee and the ots would be helpful. other than that, i was having trouble staying on the outside of the hit box, but i think i just need more practice to figure out where exactly that is. overall all an awesome run though, go team
