We will be taking on the first 2 bosses in Hyjal to start out the night. If all goes well, we are going to peek into the Black Temple and take a stab at High Warlord Naj'entus... So read up on that fight.

/disagree -- I know I mentioned as much in IRC, but apparently folks are gone already. (I've been installing servers all day -- dead on my feet) I think it's a waste of our energies to split instances like this. We should either spent the first part of our night in BT or not at all ... why would we go there after we've spent our wad in Hyjal? Why would we waste 30-40 minutes to get over there? Even with people parked at the instance, lets be realistic -- people are going to "oh I need my BT neckpiece now - let me just talk to Akuma -- and escort -- oops back to Shattrath -- can I get a summon? I need AFK now my dogs are barking." You keep insisting that we need SR for Kaz'rogal -- I'm getting flashbacks to how bad we gimped our raid for Curator. Sure - some. But insisting that we need every mana user to have them is absurd and unnecessary. And how many people have contributed materials for their own cloak? No one even knows they need this stuff -- we haven't run into it. Anyways -- my vote is that we either go full bore BT at the beginning and *then* maybe Hyjal or whatever to round out the night after Najentus. Or just stick in Hyjal for Kaz'rogal.

I think it would be best to just stay in Hyjal for the night. I think we still need some re-enforcement on the first 2 bosses.

While I agree that switching instances is a pain, I disagree that kazrogal will be doable without any SR at all. Curator was different, it wasn't necessary because he doesn't blow you up if you use mana. Even before 2 minutes into this fight, this guy will have drained every mana user of 6k mana (prot pallys, enhance shaman = oom and dead), plus the mana you would have already used during the course of the fight. Thats pretty much a wipe if there are no healers alive and no caster alive. Thats even before you get your potion CD back up. I would love to attempt this, but keep in mind its a punishing half hour of trash waves per attempt.... And wearing 1 neck piece and 1 cloak = like 100 spell damage or 150 healing, so I dont think its too much of a gimp. IMO - on our anetheron kill, we got LUCKY. Browsing the WWS numbers, the healers assigned to chuunks had about 50% resists on the debuff, and thats with zero SR besides prayer and mark (I dont even know if they stack). SR would improve our chances significantly and lead to less wipes on this guy. I guess my point is, choosing between 150 less healing or dying a horrible death seems easy to me
Curator was greens with AR on them, this is epics with SR and a bunch of stam.

I think you underestimate the badassity of our raid. Resist gear is unreliable, I think people should be doing (and some have) their homework -- with the medallion and priest buff, that's 110 shadow resist. Add the cloak to that and you've another 40 ... 150 easily achieved with minor farming. Yet I've had ONE request for Heart of Darkness from our guild bank. ONE. Resisting most of the marks would trivialize the encounter, true ... but I still think we can beat it and there are valuable learning experiences to go to it now:
* How do I conserve mana to make sure I have 3000 by the end of the debuff (perhaps healers cycle to get good mp5?)
* How do I optimize my mana gem / potion quaffing
* What group setup will best take advantage of SPriest / Mana Tide
* Where do we run when we're gonna blow?
* Who deserves the innervate?
* What's the best time to evocate?
* How are druid cats going to react and how soon should they run out?
* How much SR is actually needed for the fight at the sacrifice of DPS?
* Should we insist that people farm for their SR gear? (right now we're just do-dee-do-dee-doo going on our merry way)
* Can we even survive the trash?
Curator is different only in levels -- we're not in greens now, sure -- but we're not in blues either. This fight is doable -- I wish people had farmed their SR cloaks, and perhaps bracer mats, and those raiders who know and are prepared are the ones I'd want to see in the raid. BUT -- we are not incapable of doing this, and it will take skill and experience - not luck. (well -- as long as it's not terrible luck, people could fail every resist just like we get an occasional terrible infernal drop placement)

Hrm... I have enough primal life, shadow, void crystal, and imbued cloth on my toon to make both the cloak and the bracers but I wasn't sure how the Heart of Darkness was going to be distributed. Priority to healers? Those who gets mats gets HoD first? Although I'm a tailor, I just hit friendly with Ashtongue so can't get recipe yet. Kinda related topic: I didn't see the request for HoD in the guild bank request thread. Is there another place we're supposed to request mats from? I think a lot of us finished our quests for Medallion of Karabor. I know that with the shadow protection buff yesterday, I was able to resist couple of the carrion swarms. The new neck piece should help with that.Chuunks wrote Add the cloak to that and you've another 40 ... 150 easily achieved with minor farming. The only reason i havent requested for heart of darkness is none of us tailors can even get the pattern till we kill the first couple bosses in black temple...which is what i thought we were waiting for.

That's beaurocracy -- if you're going to craft it, just look for me or an officer online.zarkk wrote Kinda related topic: I didn't see the request for HoD in the guild bank request thread. Is there another place we're supposed to request mats from?

10g and 20 minutes of IF spamming can do wonders.Tsuni wrote

Haaaaaaats! Just kidding. Yeah I think we should prioritize hearts to shadow priests and healers first, and hopefully everyone can be saving up mats for the other pieces when they get a heart.
Hyjal+ 6.3.2008 @ 7:30 PM Server
A friend of mine in Fates Hand is willing to craft some shadow cloaks (mats provided of course).
So if ya can't find someone, let me know.
