Great job everyone, we learned this fight really well and once again, another raid night, another boss hits the floor.  Special thanks to Rockmunster for gearing up to be our beloved prot pally, he did a fantastic job, and we all really appreciate it.  Also thanks to Draven for sacrificing himself for the good of the raid :)  Rock, I think the switch to earthen elixirs helped quite a bit, so I will bring those each time we are in there.  Granted, its only 20 less damage, but if 10 mobs are hitting you, thats 200 less damage every time they hit you, which is huge.  Also a spare shaman (lol) can put down a stoneskin totem which is 44 less damage per hit.  Fargol has a couple ideas about trinkets you might swap in for those trash waves, since its 2 full minutes between them, maybe ones that will help slow that initial burst damage. Overall, really fun fight, not your standard type fight...Intense healing and a lot of chaos.  I think I speak for us all when I say I am really happy we had Rock there :)

draven: hey, look over there!
rage winterchill: hey look!  the ground!
draven: ... i bought you guys a couple seconds, but i'm not sure they were worth it ;) i guess it's probably worth practicing, since it may be more useful on the other bosses, and you guys didn't really need me anyway.  good work :)

Couple notes on the trash I noticed -- *  I think it worked really well pulling one of the ghouls back to get the ranged and knights involved in the battle.  It worked better than a hunter IMHO because the mob didn't stay in the back pounding on our NPCs. *  Abominations Poison Aura is nasty .. nasty nasty nasty *  Sheeping the Necros worked well it seemed -- shield reflecting 3500 bolts felt good too.  If we lack CC for them in a future attempt, I might just reflect tank it - pulling it to AOE. RE: Rage -- *  Death and Decay kills all NPCs dead (and inattentive raiders) -- except for Jaina. *  He doesn't melee while D&D is active, so it's okay to turn and run. *  His melee hit breaks the ice tomb effect, I dont think I'll swap out my stam/blocker trinkets.

Thanks for the good words! The earthen elixirs absolutely helped decrease the dmg i was taking on the last few waves especially, so I will be sure to alaways bring those.  I also think chunnks and thandrenn/akuma taunting one of the mobs and then bringing them back into the aoe also helped quite a bit to decrease the dmg I was taking. Seems like a pretty easy fight overall as long as I dont bite the dust, but between the elixirs, the other tanks OTing a mob themselves, and our awesome healers, I dont see this fight ever taking more than 1 or 2 shots ever again.
