Late Night Crew Murders Prince!
After group 2 disbanded for the night we got together a motley group of rejects to try some attempts on Prince. We only had 1 tank type person and no shackles, so some of the 4 mob pulls going to Prince were interesting, but after some creative trickery we dps'd em down. After 2 wipes due to horribly placed infernals we finally downed Prince with only 1 death due to flying axe's when he was at ~20% (GHA!). In attendance were: Akumabarai, Benvolo, Phrikk, Onestar, Kaittlynn, Emilie, Drp, Myrdinn, Darkehn, and Maggotmilk. Drops: Drape of the Rightious (trash mob): Maggotmilk Boots of Elusion (trash mob): Maggotmilk Gorehowl: Darkehn Tier 4 Helm: Myrdinn Adornment of Stolen Souls: Emilie GREAT JOB TO ALL! It's awesome to see that fight go well, and it is kinda fun to run with a clean up group that late in the night, even though I do hope that soon there will be no need for a clean up crew at all.

Though I'm very glad we managed to get him down, the clear difference between when Thandrenn was tanking Prince and when Akuma was disturbs me. Granted Akuma is able to absorb a lot more with his higher armor and health, but obviously this isn't a Druid tank-needed fight. What seemed to be killing me each time were crushing blows slipping in between Shield Block cooldowns. And in some cases these blows were back to back:
11/19 00:58:53.998 Prince Malchezaar hits you for 7429. (crushing)
...
11/19 00:58:54.219 Prince Malchezaar hits you for 7452. (crushing)
I had Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch on and was using it when possible. Ironshield pots good. Was using Adamantite Figurine when it was up. We *were* lacking a Priest fortitude buff which might have saved me in a few cases, but I'm not too sure about that. Any advice?

Hmmm, the late night crew log gives another guilds log...
Late Night Crew Murders Prince!
hehe, nah, i think that's the right log, it's just the anonymous report. Everyone's name has been replaced with a fake name. It should be easy enough to figure out who everyone is except the mage/warlocks.

Mages/Warlocks... Hmmm, thats just about everyone lol.

I wonder which one I was lol

Arg. That's actually our log, but the anonymous version. WoWwebstats was acting wonky last night so I must've copied the wrong URL.mahonri wroteHmmm, the late night crew log gives another guilds log...

Late Night Crew Murders Prince!
Once again, great job guys! Even though it took a lot of attempts to get Prince down, he did go down. Personally, there are a lot of things that I need to improve on this fight. I am sure most of you can think of things that you could have done better too. So I think having me in charge of calling out elementals does not work well. Either I really suck at it, or... well, I think I just really suck at it. I couldn't really judge where they were going, and I wasn't doing a good job of having new positions planned out before the elementals landed. This job is not as easy as I thought it would be.Also, having a shaman in the group is crazy fun. When Scott popped heroisim on the last Prince attempt, that was sweet. The only time I see frostbolts flying faster than that is when I'm stealing the buff off of Julliane. Having Curse of Elements up on Prince was also a luxury that I (and the other mages) enjoy.

Hey Thandrenn, from looking at the logs I don't see a whole lot of what you could've done better. Phase 2 is very hard on the tank, quoted from wowwiki: http://www.wowwiki.com/Prince_Malchezaar "Depending on your tank, a badly timed Thrash can take out more than 12,000 health within a second. Healers need to keep the tank topped off, and at least one healer should constantly have a large heal ready to keep the tank above 12,000 health at all times. As he has weapons, he also gains the ability to Parry incoming attacks from the front. A Thrash followed by a Parry can lead to over 20,000 damage done in two seconds." This seemed to happen in try #1, and it seems fairly normal. Another quote from wowwiki: "In Phase Two, a huge damage spike on a warrior tank caused when rapid-fire Thrash attacks use up Shield Block charges and lead to crushing blows. These spikes are not avoidable. The healers and the tank must simply use their normal techniques to ensure survival in the face of this damage. In particular, healers must continuously cast big heals in Phase Two even if the tank is at full health. By the time the heal lands, he won't be at full health any more. " Try 2 we should've got heals on you faster, Try 3 it seems your shield block was used up very quickly and those crushing blows got through. I think if anything needs to be learned from that night it's just the drastic difference in melee damage that the tank takes during phase 2 and we need to make sure we're saving cooldowns for that phase. As healers we need to be casting those big heals and waiting for the last second for them to land before cancelling or just letting them land altogether and work mana management around that. We should start calling out the phases during the fight and just focus on getting through phase 2. I think we did better with Akuma during phase 2 the other night because of the crushing blow bear mitigation due to some really good bear tanking gear. But a series of bad luck in phase 2 would still cause a wipe with either tank, imo. So going all out healing and dps in phase 2 is something we should concentrate on next run to better our chances.
