Earlier today I was grinding reputation with Darnassus, because I absolutely despise my fat elephant. Anyways, as I was grinding I get disconnected, and as I try to login I noticed my password has been changed! Only my brother knows my password and he's at work. So slowly I'm going through the steps of what I should do, but in a sort of desperate pace so I don't lose any valuable items or even worse, my character! I thought I would go to the Worldofwarcraft.com site and change my password, since I have the secret question and answer and all that other personal information. So I change it, after about 10 or 15 minutes of trying to decide what I should do, and as I log in it says my account has been suspended? I don't know what is going on as of now but if anyone can provide some information or some advice that would be greatly appreciated. I want to get back to working on getting that He-Man mount...

Hmm.. now that I think about it, I recently decided to try some new addons to customize my gaming experience. Could this be a cause of my situation?

Don't want to scare you, but ya it could be... One of my friends pulled a key logger off of filefront.com while downloading the patch and had his account hacked. The good news is that the GM's are fairly good about this and he got all his money back. When his account was hacked his character was saying some pretty naughty stuff in trade chan, so that could account for a suspension. Sounds like you might need to call WoW tech and see what they can do for ya.

Yea.. that reminds me, when the server was down I was watching some PvP shadow priest videos off of Filefront and another warcraft site. I even have one saved to my desktop as a matter of fact.. Anyways, I received an email from blizzard, I'll just post a snippet here that maybe someone can elaborate on: This is a notification regarding the World of Warcraft account [Account name here]. Access to this account has been temporarily disabled for being associated to accounts which have been closed for intended exploitation. Based on a review of the information presented, this World of Warcraft account has been given a final warning and a 72 hour account suspension, in addition to any previous warnings issued. Until the suspension has been lifted, the account will not be accessible. Please note that Blizzard Entertainment will be unable to provide further information regarding the specific time an account will become accessible again. From what I read here and based on my initial interpretation, it sounds like I was friends with the wrong people? I don't know, but I've never been given a single warning and I've never been suspended. I don't know to what extremes I've done something so horrible that it resulted in a 72 hour. But hey, the bright side is.. now I can study for my 2 midterms coming up next week. When I get back I best be sure to keep my mouth shut about everything! Haha. I'm not too upset, at least I didn't lose my account. I wish they'd hearth me to an inn so I can get some rested xp!

Usually there is a pyramid of steps, 72 hr suspension isnt 3rd up. Either someone has been using ur account to cause trouble for a long time, or whatever happened was servere (sp?). I assume urs is the second option because it says intended exploitation. Not sure what that is exactly, but it sounds bad
The link http://us.blizzard.com/support/article. ... leId=20224 takes you directly to the exploitation policy. You should have gotten an email giving you exact details about what 'you' did and why it was innapropriate. Also, there is a good chance that a GM tried to contact u in game to talk to you about 'your' behavior and I can imagine that you were not very nice. The following are things that I found about the Policies on the WoW website: We take the following categories very seriously. Impersonating a GM Defrauding or Attempting to Defraud a GM Disobeying or Ignoring GM Instructions Harassing the GM Staff Excessive use of Abusive Language If a player is found to have violated any of these categories, he/she may: *Be temporarily suspended from the game 72 Hour Suspension72 Hour suspensions are assigned when a player needs to be removed from the game for an extended period of time or the player has repeatedly violated policy in a relatively brief period of time. 72 Hour suspensions are somewhat rare, as they are only given for serious policy violations or repeated policy abuse. The following are also true of 72 Hour suspensions: Serious account penalty Somewhat rare Extended service interruption

"for being associated to accounts" .... is your account paid for by a credit card that pays for other accounts? I pay for 3 WoW accounts on my credit card and my other half is always warning me that if one of the boys accounts gets suspended that mine will too. Maybe you didn't do anything at allMiluda wrote Access to this account has been temporarily disabled for being associated to accounts which have been closed for intended exploitation.
