As most of you know, my account was hacked and items from the gbank were taken. I don't know how exactly this has happened because I am so cautious of what I do on-line, but must have made a mistake somewhere. I never relized just how much I love this game till I received an e-mail today stating my account was "temporarily disabled due to inappropriate advertising activity within the World of Warcraft", i felt like my life was over. This e-mail freaked me out so badly I immediatly called Handsomo and told him to lower my rank cause I think my account had been hacked. When he confirmed it had been and things from the gbank had been taken I just broke into tears . I feel so terrible this happened. I have taken all the appropriate measures to fix this issue. I bought a new virus scan (then changed the cc # I had used to pay for the program), ran the program and removed the 2 trojan viruses that were on it. I've changed all my passwords on everthing, changed my email address, and sent World of Warcraft and email explaining what has happened and requesting all our stuff be returned. I don't know how long it's going to take for all this to be resolved, but once it is hopefully you can forgive me for what has happened and except me back into the guild if you have removed me. It could have been a keylogger that you picked up from anywhere. Downloading will do it, but a mouse over ad could do it too. Some things that most of the officers do is: Use Firefox with the mose over addon Have your account info on a notepad and then copy and past in game (supposedly prevents them from logging your keystrokes cuz all they see is a ctrl-v and a ctrl-c) Stuff like that. I don't think I have actually typed any passwords in a year.

Also Firefox has an keyscambler add-on which will protect all your "log-ins" it encrypts all of your keystrokes. Another thing is for $15.00 you can buy the authenticator from Blizzard, took less than a week to recieve it in the mail and it adds another layer of security and peace of mind.

ok so I downloaded Firefox but how do you set the keyscrambler? Does it just do it automatically or do you have to set it up manually?

A tip a got from Akuma: When you type in your password, don't enter the characters in order. Example... my password has some letters in it, I type those first, then I go back and insert the numbers and whatnot into the middle of the letters. But don't use the arrow keys to insert, click the location with your mouse. That way if you have some kind of keylogging crap, it logs the characters in the wrong order.

I hear that if you have been trained in the way of the Jedi that you can actually just THINK your password real hard and it will just appear in the password field... You might spend some time trying that (I envision Jessica sitting at her computer complaining to Jason that its just not working... And Jason keeps saying that shes not trying hard enough and is going to be late for the raid)... If you need more Jedi training you can always contact one of the experienced Jedi's in the guild. But then again if you have a problem of surfing pron on the Interheadz you could still pick up a thought logger... Hmmmm....
